Sometimes Japan gets some things right. This is by far the best non alcoholic beer I’ve had here!
makes me feel human after almost a month of no alcohol.
I find it so annoying that people care SO much about how many followers they have on their blog. So much so that they SHAMELESSLY self-promote by “promoing” a big list of other blogs to follow. I see that list and I skip it. I also dislike the blog that does the promo for doing it. Why do you care so damn much?
I know there are a lot of people that will disagree with me and I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this rant, but whatever. If you don’t like it then block me.
Here is what a promo list should be: No RULES to “qualify” to be part of the promo. I like all kinds of different blogs. If I like em, I will promote them.
1) thefameofhealthandfitness- Inspirational woman full of good ideas when it comes to clean eating and achieving your goals.
2) lostweightgainedlove- This guy is awesome! He has come a long way. Running, cycling, and enjoying life.
3) killfatme- If paleo is your thing then this guy is a great person to follow. He shows all of his food prepped and ready to go. He a man of mystery, too. Intriguing.
4) thelongwalkback- This woman blogs about EVERYTHING.Always offering advice. Mainly fitblr-related stuff. Posting meals, her garden pics, and her handsome husband…
5) bigfatshoe- Derek is an important fitblr to me. He has come so far! He’s had the ups and downs we all have. Most importantly he is still going. Do your thing, Shoe!!
6) mikeywantsitall-Should be called mikeygetsitall. He is a great runblr to follow. Follow him as he starts to really reshape his body moreso than he already has.
7) powerrprincess- This girl is hilarious. She is also seriously in shape.
8) ninefingerfitness- No, I don’t know if he only has nine fingers or what, but I know he is jacked and he’s not a fucking douchebag like a lot of big fitblrs who get on their soapbox and preach on tumblr. Crossfit is his thing.
9) fitvegan4life- This guy is really helpful if you are vegan. I am not, but I like his constant willingness to give information to people if they ask for it.
10) thecrossfitchickauryon- Awesome crossfitter to follow. Posts about all things crossfit related and hilarious shit from her personal life. She likes bacon.
So there it is. MY promo. Not that you should care. But maybe we can start to promo people because we like their shit, not because they follow us or whatever.
There are a tonne more blogs that I enjoy day to day and I will share them in the future.

So I’m into Phase II of Shortcut to Size and about to finish microcycle I.
My strength gains are pretty sweet. I’ve been able to up my bench by 10kgs for 12 reps. Now I’m benching 59 kgs, which may not seem like much, but I’m not exactly the Hulk…
Anyway, the other day I was working out my back and biceps. I still struggle to do pull ups. I can do 5-6 unassisted PULLups in a row. They still take a LOT out of me every time. In case you’re wondering, a pull up uses your arm, shoulder and back muscles and the palm of your hand faces away from you.
They are hard but feel AWESOME!
SO, for my biceps I decided to do some CHINups. Palm facing you.
They mainly work your biceps and shoulders (among other things) but they are WAY more effective for your biceps than doing curls. So after doing my pullups I do some chin ups and I was blown away at how easy they felt!
With pull ups I struggle to get my chin over the bar every time and I want to cry after 5 or 6. With my chin ups I was just poppin them out one after the other. I was bringing my chin so high over the bar my CHEST was touching it!! It was INCREDIBLE!!! I haven’t done chin ups for a long time and was shocked at how easy they were. I’m definitely going to keep them in with my bicep routine.
Sorry, kinda dumb post. But I really do feel awesome.
OH! and my weight has gone from 86kg- 89or 90kg in a month and a week! Shortcut to Size? I think so!
Let me clear though, this is no walk in the park. Four days a week, I leave the gym a sweaty, shaky mess. Every morning I wake up around 6:30 and start to eat and continue eating all fucking day. I spend about 3 hours a week prepping food for three or four days and then do it all over again when I’m finished that food. I’m sore all the time. But I LOVE IT!
If you’ve got the time, want to make serious gains, and have the persistence and drive to work at it everyday then I say DO THIS PROGRAM!!

Nice.
I’m here working on the JET Programme. It’s a great way to come back to Japan, if you end up enjoying it this summer. Have a great time!
One fitblr to another, the food is NOT super healthy. Watch out for all the fried food and prepared food at combinis. If you are aware of this going in, I think it’s better. There are plenty of healthy options, you just have to learn to say, “No, thank you.”

Nice!! My wife just got a massive tattoo on her back and shoulder blade. She handled the pain really well. Much better than I.
I kind of think of getting a tattoo like making a promise to take care of and take pride in my body for the rest of my life.
Thanks! It is five kanji characters (七転八起) which directly means “Fall seven times, get up eight” but as you can guess it is in the spirit of “never give up/ never say die.” A friend at the high school I teach at here in Japan designed it. He is a calligraphy artist.
Thanks again! It’s always nice to receive a compliment of any kind. Do you have any tattoos?
Just scrolling through my blog, vane I know. This is a comparison of my back from February and last week. I think S2S is working!!

5k into my run I crossed this river to run in a park by the beach. Days like these, the countryside of Japan is gorgeous. There’s no denying the beauty of nature here. It’s not all big cities and skyscrapers.

My longest run ever!!! I’ll tell ya, after the first 10k I had no steam left. Walk, run, walk, limp, limp, run, walk…13.1k done!
Goal: next year be able to run a half.
